I'm Addicted to This : Honkai Impact 3

So, I've been thinking lately... Asking myself, when was the last time I actually got addicted into something. I sort of remembered what it was, but then again, it was pretty vague. Couldn't see clearly as it is just a glimpse of my past memories. The only thing I can recall was, I used to spent a lot of time in front of my father's computer playing Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun, and oh boy, that was one of the best game I've ever played! Honestly, as far as I remember, I got stuck playing that game for almost two years of my childhood life. Whew~ I know I should've enjoy my childhood by doing something "meaningful", but yet again, computer was my only friend that time. Also my teacher~ Personal teacher I'd say.....

But here's a thing, as I grew up, topped with even more responsibility, I lose interest and get less addicted with my usual "habit". Typically for the C&C Tiberian Sun. Every single thing about that game slowly covered in dust deep withing my mind. I grew tired of it. In fact, to most of the game I've played. I usually didn't get bored or whatsoever, but my teenage years kinda' change all that. Entirely.

Every single game whether they are new or not, I'll get tired of it eventually. At times, I even considered myself as the one who grew bored at certain things quite at a fast rate. Well let's put it this way... I used to consider myself to be having a butterfly mind. Strange, but that was the fact.

And this situation continues as I grew even further. Tried and got interested in DotA. But then, four months later, I grew bored of it. Lose interest in it entirely. Then I switch to League of Legends. Well, it was quite a game, and I got hooked with it for years! Since 2011. And of course, I grew bored and kinda lose interest in it recently. But to be frank, I wouldn't put it the way that I lost interest in it, but rather I was pretty busy with assignments an all lately. Hmm, but maybe I should re-download LoL and start playing it again sooner or later...

Yadee yadee yadaa, put all that aside, let's get to the point. Though I've been stating up above that I've been growing bored with the things I've done, but recently something just hit my mind. Yeap, you know it.

The all new mobile game, Honkai Impact 3.

Damn, so addictive. That was my first impression as I progress through the game. Of course! Right before I talk about how addictive this game, I would really like to state out a few elements of the game that make it quite unique.

First of all, the gameplay! Yeap! Can't go anywhere in the gaming topic without talking of how nice the gameplay is, doesn't? Let's start of with the basic one shall we? Honkai Impact 3, is mainly like any JRPG genre out there, having to play the characters you've obtained in a 3rd person point of view. The control is the same like any other JRPG. There's the tap to attack button, character skill button, weapon skill button and also the evasion button, in which you can use to gain advantage on the battlefield. On your left is the movement virtual joystick of course. Generally, in every stage you ought to play, you were given the option to set up your line-up, and it is all up to you whether you want a balance line-up (psychic, creature and mecha) or any mixture of your own choice! Then, you also got to pick your friends to aid you in battle, in which their chosen characters will give an addition bonus to your party. Note that these bonuses may also stack with yours even if you had the same skill set. Cool isn't?

Apart from that, this game also demands you to strengthens your valkyries. There is a lot of way to do this, and amongst the basic are levelling up your valkyrie, equiping them with stigmatas (have bonus stats if you equip 3 sets at once), levelling up their weapons and ranking up their rank (Triple S is the highest rank). Oh, almost forgot to mention, you can also strengthen your valkyrie through upgrading your base facilities that may attribute a little stats to your chosen valkyrie as well.

In addition to that, Honkai Impact 3 also offers event stages, such as those where you can farm experience for your valkyrie, stigmata and even weapon. However, this event stage isn't always available every single day, as they actually taking turns to be opened! Having to say that, Honkai Impact 3 also supports a three players co-op mode, where you can invite your friends to farm items, experience or golds together. Quite addictive huh? Well, wait until you get into the Infinity Abyss mode.

In this mode, you got to bring your most powerful valkyrie to the abyssal stage. However there's a catch. Since you brought your valkyries into the deep pit of nothingness, your party may lose Health Points due to the overwhelming temperature. Thus, required you to complete every single stage as fast as you can. As you complete a single stage, they'll be a reward in which you can use to exchange it for an item at the supply panel! (There's a reward that gives you a trap, but seems like they've removed it). The Infinity Abyss has a few types, and they are getting even deeper and deeper as you got promoted along the way. Infinity Abyss has a time span where players can compete before the closing time. After it closes, players wouldn't be able to play on the current level and will have to wait for the next re-opening. Here the players will be informed whether they passed to the next level, to stay or to be demoted to the lower level.

Before you break out and said that this game is a P2P game, well let me stop you there. Yes. This game have an in-game mall, where some of the goods offered demands crystals (real money). But this game is not entirely a "pay-2-win" game and it doesn't mean you have to buy crystals in order for you to proceed through the storyline. In other terms, I would say, buying crystal in-game in nothing but just a shortcut. Not necessarily the requirements for you to progress in the game. This game requires your patience and determination if you want to climb the ladder to be one of the strongest. Most importantly, it's how your willingness to spend time with this game. It really does matter. Buying the in-game currency, no. Not really. Just like I said earlier. It's just a shortcut and it doesn't mean you can't progress at all.

In a nutshell, Honkai Impact 3 is an immersive game that holds the elements of addictive within it. With all the colourful graphics and outstanding dynamics, this game is going to be successful in the long run. Not to mention the captivating storyline that is reinforced with its own manga, the game is like one of those game out there, where you play your own favourite anime!
